I'm excited about this week as on Thursday its the preview of the 'Out of the Ordinary' Exhibition and on Saturday its the preview of the show at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery where I am exhibiting along side Dawn Dupree whose work I am really looking forward to seeing. I know that there are similarities in our work, but also obvious differences as she lives and works in London, and I live in Cornwall. There is an interview about her work on a website called' The Making' which gives an insight into her working processes.

Out of the Ordinary

Next exhibition 'Out of the Ordinary' is going to be held in Falmouth with artists Ian Penna, Stuart Robinson and my own work. This show has been curated by Rebecca Darch. The preview is the 3rd of September 6-9pm. The exhibition continues until the 10th of September 2009.

My work

I have been reworking my statement and below is the newest one. The website I have is being updated

In my current work I am responding to the fragmented complexity of contemporary life.

I am extremely interested in psychology and this feeds into my work.

Some of my paintings explore the play between pure abstraction and figuration.

I enjoy surprising the viewer through the power of colour and how this contrasts with the imagery revealed beneath the layers that gives way to further and deeper meaning.

I record images and events that resonate as both mysterious and familiar.
